Day Eight 8/8

It's already day eight and it's time to say goodbye to Ken and our lovely farm AirBnB in Blaine and head to Seattle! We got a slow start and left Blain around 11.

First stop is the flagship REI store in Seattle so Brennan can hopefully test a mountain bike on their outdoor test track (without actually buying a $3500 bike, that is). This may be a bad idea...

Turns out that REI is a) super low on inventory and had no cool bikes to test b) does not do test rides during Covid and c) is really expensive and designed to make you buy expensive things. So instead of testing a bike we bought matching down jackets and other crap. Yay!

We then checked into our Seattle AirBnB which is actually in Lake Forest Park and is also, gorgeous.
It also has a combo washer/dryer and a full kitchen!
We also found a new card game at REI called Monopoly Deals which is SUPER fun. We played that tonight over Arby's for dinner and while watching the Olympic closing ceremonies.

Tomorrow we're gonna head into Seattle proper and check some more stuff off the list!

Day Seven 8/7

Day Seven we did a bit of the Mount Baker drive. Although we decided not to do the full 2 hour drive, it was gorgeous! We then decided to head into Bellingham and go to the Spark Museum of Electrical Invention. That was AMAZING. They had displays of artifacts from the birth of magnetic and electrical discovery/invention through radios, light bulbs, Morse code, telegraphs, telephones, televisions and microphones.   They also had an amazing hour-long show with demonstrations of electricity that ended with the Mega Zapper zapping the s*** out of a Faraday cage WITH A PERSON INSIDE. For $10! So obviously Brennan did that.  I also have some awesome videos, but I can't put them here so I'll have to send them out! That zapper is LOUD.
